15 Sep Bulk Systems

Bulk continuous ink loading systems Inkplanet® packages its excellent Ecoplanet™ ranges for every need you may have depending on your machine. Traditionally plotters are supplied with closed cartridges of 440, 500, 700 or 1,000ml, although the market may demand other new formats and here are some other options. The bulk systems or uninterrupted ink systems are designed for high production machines. And there are mainly 3 systems:Open refillable cartridges which, as they are emptied, have to be refilled from bottles or demijohns through a funnel. This is the most cumbersome and dirty system, with the big problem that, being an open system, impurities can enter the cartridge during the filling process and the problems derived from the contact of the ink with the air, which can oxidise it and therefore render it unusable. Open cartridges are the most common type of refillable cartridges. Bulk systems which consist, as before, of refillable cartridges but with the difference that they have a large tank (1 or 2 litres) that supplies the ink to the cartridge. Their performance is more unattended than the previous one but with the same disadvantages of impurities or oxidation.. Bag sealing system. This is the best of all as it consists of a sealed bag of ink of 1 or 2 litres that supplies ink to the cartridge. As it is a closed system, there is no problem with impurities or oxidation.Any of these systems are designed for customers who require a lot of production or continuous printing of many metres without having to constantly change cartridges. 15 Sep Bladeplanet, an infallible blade

Bladeplanet, an infallible blade for your cutting or printing and cutting plotterThe good finish of a job also depends on the correct choice of cutting blade. The great variety of materials used in a cutting plotter forces us to know the characteristics of the blade to prolong its life, where the angle of the blade is also a factor to take into account. The blades are classified by their angle, the greater the angle of the blade, the deeper the blade penetrates into the material, therefore it will cut thicker materials. The most commonly used angles are 45° and 60°, although 30° angles can be used for certain jobs. The 45° blades are the most common since with them we can cut all kinds of vinyl. To cut thick materials such as flocked vinyl, reflective vinyl or work with a lot of detail we will use the 60° blades. There are different alloys in the manufacture of the blades, but the most common is steel. However, the Bladeplanet manufactured by Inkplanet® is made of high grade tungsten carbide (90HRA). These are of a higher quality than steel and have a life span of up to ten times longer. The blades are a fragile element. A malfunction can be caused, among other things, by residues or impurities settling in the blade holder's housing, such as particles and vinyl adhesive or metal filings that are attracted by the blade holder's internal magnet. The blade holder must be cleaned by injecting clean compressed air, free from moisture, without any chemical additives. In addition, most blade holders are equipped with "caps" or threaded devices that allow the level of penetration of the blade tip into the working material to be regulated. Another useful tip is the register guide device consisting of the four axes parallel to the cutter carriage. For the most correct use of the blades, the following steps should be followed:Once the blade is placed in the blade holder, check that it rotates freely. Adjust the fine adjustment of the blade holder so that the tip of the blade is exposed only to the minimum necessary for cutting. Minimize the pressure or force of the cutting plotter by means of the electronic adjustment control before performing the cutting test, then adjust it according to the need for the material to be used.Bladeplanet blades have a tungsten carbide tip, finished by hand one by one, which makes fine, clean cuts by applying 50% less pressure. They also last up to three times longer than the original for the same price and up to ten times longer than blades of Asian origin. They are available for Roland and its compatibles, Mimaki and Summa among other plotters...
15 Sep Capping

Capping, a fundamental part of printing machines. When carrying out user maintenance on your plotters and T-shirt printing machines, you should not forget to clean one essential part: the capping. This small piece where the headstocks are parked is, in addition to being economical, fundamental for the correct operation of the machine. The importance of keeping the capping clean and in good condition, lies in two fundamental elements: The machine, when not in use, needs to ensure total tightness between the capping and the spindle, otherwise the spindle could dry out and will most likely be damaged. On the other hand, when cleaning the plotter, the suction pump would not carry out its function if the capping does not make a correct vacuum as air would enter and cleaning could not be carried out correctly. Depending on the machine model, it is recommended to change this fundamental component every 6 or 9 months. It is very important to keep the capping free of ink residues, lint and other elements that may interfere with its correct sealing and vacuuming. Also, if the foam inside the capping is swollen, or contains lint and other items inside, it may touch the base of the head and, by capillary action, could empty the machine's ink circuit. At Inkplanet® we recommend that you perform preventive maintenance on your machine according to the recommendations and frequency established by the manufacturer. For the correct cleaning of your cappings, Inkplanet® offers you excellent cleaning liquids for your solvent, eco-solvent, DTG and sublimation machine. ..
